Hey people,
another week flys by as we seem to be stacking them up quickly, with things being busy over here, it seems like the days are buzzing by, at least now the hours of light are getting longer and it is more encouarging to be outside in the Sun, even if it is not yet shorts and T-shirt weather.
Over the weekend I had the Interweb eye focused back to home, as I was checking the results from the Olympic Track trials in Melbourne, and have been able to see most of the coverage of the distance events, as well as post race interviews so feel like I could keep up to speed.
Well done to those that got the nod over the past few hours and who will be repping the Green and Gold in London, and for those that just missed out or are tetering on the edge, keep it up and let's hope for a bit of luck (and a good mood for the selectors to get on that team!)
On the marathon training side for me, I had a few good sessions this week, with a good longer interval session at marathon race pace on Tuesday, and a solid 38km Long Run on Friday night. I had to get this done after work on Friday, as I was away all weekend in Geneva for a School Basketball tournament, and would be out of action in terms of quality workouts.
This is where we stayed just out of Geneva, still a bit cold for the Pool though.
I was happy to get it out of the way, especially when it was getting dark after halfway, thankfully I had Renate on the bike who could light the way...and my watch so I could check my pace, splits etc along the way, would have been even much tougher without her as my assistant!!
Signs are looking good for a solid Half Marathon, which I will run this Sunday in Italy. The race is a crescent shape around the Lago Maggoire, just over the border of Switzerland, and is apparently a beautiful place. The race starts on one side of the Lake, then finishes on the other side of the Lake, then when you are done, you have to get a Ferry back to the other side again, or you could swim... reckon I know what I will be doing! It should add a bit of excitment to it all. We will jump on the train in Basel and a bit over 3 hours later we will be in Verbania, the race start (Race starts in Verbania and finishes in Stresa, see the map below).
I will take some pics and share next week.
So, what have I been listening to this week... well, one out of choice and one cause it is invading the airwaves over here, so much so, that I can't get it out of my head, everywhere I turn I am hearing it.
#1 This song is in the one killing me at the moment.
Micheal Telo is the guys name, at least the video has a crowd full of chicks, but I reckon he is a bit of a homa... that's probably what he is signing about, if you have any ideas let me know!!

#2 To get that rubbish out of your head, maybe have a listen to this, a bit relevant considering the Title of this week's blog.
